How to Pick the Right Corporate Entertainment Provider
Once you've decided to go with a corporate entertainment provider, the next decision is determining which of the providers you will be hiring to conduct the activities. A poorly planned event or one that lacks energy and interest is not going to be well-remembered by your personnel. Here are some things to look for when selecting the right corporate activity provider.
Has the provider had experience in planning and organizing corporate events in the past?
No matter how imaginative the ideas, a provider who is totally new to the field of corporate events planning will not be able to anticipate all the facets of the event which need to be controlled. There are literally thousands of details which must be coordinated in this type of corporate activity in order to have it run smoothly and without dangerous mishaps.
Does the provider allow you to select from a variety of entertainment styles?
If you like a particular style of entertainment such as catered banquets with a comedy routine and the provider specializes in another such as white water rafting with chili around a campfire, chances are good that you should select a different provider or you will both be dissatisfied with the results.
Can the event provider give you good references for similar work performed in the past?
Even if the provider can count dozens of activity days for other clients and is not able to provide you with independent references as to the quality of the event planned, you should not select this provider. Twenty mediocre events under the charge of a particular provider is unlikely to provide you with a fantastic event. You are more likely to be number 21 of 21 mediocre events.
Are the provider staff trained and able to conduct the activity?
Since most providers work through other individuals, you should be sure that the personnel selected to actually lead out in activities during events is qualified to do so. For example, if you plan an event for rock climbing, and the guide is not an expert in the activity, you run the risk of injuries or accidents that could leave the personnel at the event injuries or even worse.
Is the price complete as stated or will there be add ons?
Make sure you understand what the final cost or your activity day(s) will be. Are there any hidden charges or add ons that will surprise you upon receiving the bill for services? For example, are meals served on an all day outing or are those extra charges?
Is there good phone contact and customer service?
Take note of how you are treated on the telephone or with customer service prior to your contract for corporate events with this particular provider? Are you kept waiting on the telephone? Are the contact staff courteous and professional? If no one is available to take your call, do you get call backs promptly?
